Welcome to Brookside Elementary School!
The mission of the Brookside Elementary School is to produce engaged learners who are academically and socially successful.
We are committed to the use of developmentally-appropriate instructional practices and technologies within a setting that is safe, supportive, and honors diversity.
On June 13, 1952, the site for Brookside Elementary School was officially secured, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the community. While construction was still in progress, a temporary school was opened in December 1953 in the building now known as the United Auto Workers Hall. By 1955, the one-story school building was completed, featuring 20 classrooms designed to serve local students.
To accommodate growing needs, the district also utilized several finished but unsold homes in the Brookside neighborhood as additional classrooms. A few years later, eight additional classrooms were built specifically for kindergarten and first-grade students. Today, Brookside Elementary proudly educates over 250 students, continuing its tradition of excellence.
